Veterinary Conference
Dr. Anthony Stachowski instructs Texas Veterinarian, Dr. Justin Cavitt, of Lufkin in the specifics of Llama dentistry.
Friday, March 14, veterinarians met in Henderson, Texas, for a 1.5 day Camelid Conference to learn more about Llamas and Alpacas. All of the Vets in attendance commented that they are seeing more and more investment quality animals showing up in their practices. This is the 1st time this kind of seminar has been done in the Industry and The CLI was praised for bringing such and event to Texas!
Approved by the Texas Veterinarian Medical Association for 10 hours of Required Continuing Education Credit.
Taught by internationally known speaker/teacher and camelid owner, Dr. Anthony Stachowski (Mantua, OH) and assisted by Dr. David Corley (Henderson, TX), the hands-on conference included all aspects of basic camelid care, plus dental procedures, jugular venipuncture, ultrasound and gelding. Participants had an opportunity for a round-table discussion to compare notes and ideas.
"Performing the procedures during the wet lab was most valuable. This will help me tremendously in my practice."
Dr. Bill Christenberry (Birmingham, Alabama) practices drawing blood as Dr. Anthony Stachowski explains details to the group. Melissa Poole (Henderson, TX) is shown assisting as Windtalker handles it all with dignity and grace.
"No time wasted. Every minute was packed with information I needed. Thank you for having this conference!"
Dr. Jimmie Gill (Haltom City, TX) learns about foot care from Dr. Anthony Stachowski as Dr. Valarie Tynes (Ft. Worth, TX) looks on.
